Black Bean Brownies

My kids love this recipe. Good kid snack or desert. Like any bakery, high in calorie density, so for special occasions or for growing kids. Black beans are the secret ingredient for dense fudge-like brownies. This is a very forgiving recipe. It was my very first bakery recipe. Makes 8 x 8 cake pan. Keeps refrigerated up to 3-5 days.

BASE

  • 2 cups beans
  • 2 bananas

DRY

  • 1 cup rolled oats, blended into oat flour
  • 1 cup chickpea flour NEW
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda NEW

WET

  • 1 tsp lime juice or vinegar NEW

FLAVOR PASTE

  • 1 apple
  • 6 dates, pitted
  • 1/4 cup dry prunes, pitted (8) NEW Fat replacement
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla or 1 tsp vanilla extract 

Bake 350F 40m?

In preheated convection toaster oven bake 350F 50m.

Final try with fat replacement bake 350F covered 60m. Check 30m (top dry) and 50m (top cracked, fork moist inside) and 60m (?). Cover keeps top from burning. Traps some steam inside.
